Spokesperson @ National Union of Metal Workers of South Africa (NUMSA)
Phakamile Hlubi-Majola: Communication specialist, journalist, social justice activist.
Phakamile Hlubi- Majola has a reputation in the South African media industry for being outspoken and fearless. She has been an outspoken critic of the lack of transformation in the South African Media space, and she is known for fighting for improved working conditions for media workers. As a journalist, her reporting style is unique because her primary goal is to challenge the audience’s views, and to offer them an alternative perspective. Her desire to be independent is the reason she left mainstream media and established her own production company, Blaqstar Kreativ, which tells original African stories, and is an independent provider of quality broadcast content.
Phakamile is a skilled communicator who also offers PR services. She is currently the National Spokesperson for the largest trade union in the country, the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA).
